Spiced Vanilla Chai
So guys, I am back to blogging after a loooooong break! Honestly I don’t have any particular reason for this break but I think I just got busy with work and it was getting difficult to take time and write down the recipes.
I was pleasantly surprised when people missed my blog and called me few times to get some recipes as there was an issue with the site and my old posts were also not accessible to everyone. I have fixed everything with the blog now and we are ready to please you again 🙂
Though I am a coffee person I enjoy tea as well! Especially when I am down with cold and need something comforting, I make some hot tea. Today was one such days and I decided to make chai with a little twist. This is a simple recipe to make a masala chai. Not very fussy to make and all the ingredients are usually handy at home. And you can play around with the flavors as per your taste.
The aroma that fills in the kitchen while making this tea will instantly make you feel fresh and active and trust me if you just need a quick pick me up, make sure you try this Spiced Vanilla Chai. Instant comfort!
Also think of this easy and versatile recipe as a delicious change to keep things from getting boring having same kind of tea everyday. Also this is a nice surprise with just enough spice to make you sit up and take notice. This is definitely one of my favorites and I’m sure it’s soon going to be yours as well!
Ingredients:-
1 cups water
2 peppercorns
3 cloves (whole)
3 pods of cardamon
1 small cinnamon stick
2 tsp Tea powder/2 tea bags
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 slices fresh ginger
1 cup milk
Pinch of nutmeg
Method:-
Combine water, peppercorns, cloves, cardamom, ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon stick and tea powder in a small saucepan and boil it for 5 minutes. The longer you boil, the more the spices will release their flavor so don’t be in hurry!
(If using tea bags add them and let them steep for 5-6 minutes)
Add milk, vanilla essence and sugar and stir well for couple of minutes. Let all the flavors get infused in the milk. Serve immediately with some cookies!!
